Rose Marie Graboski- It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Rose Graboski, on Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Rose is survived by her children, two daughters and a son. Rose is fondly remembered by her grandchildren. Rose is also survived by 28 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a sister in law, and many nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph, infant son, son-in-law, Art Franz, parents, Stanley and Mary Olsonoski; and her siblings, Josephine, Joseph, Steve, Katherine, William, Frank, Stanley, Helen, Felix, Edward, Victoria, Anne, Martha, and Vincent.
Mom was born in Kittson County, MN, in 1911. She married Joseph Graboski in 1928 and they moved to Tolstoi,MB, where they farmed until their retirement in 1969 when they moved to Emerson. Rose loved her family, gardening and quilting. She made many beautiful quilts for her family who treasure them to this day. Rose remained in Emerson after the passing of her loving husband and lived on her own until the age of 99. She then moved to Gimli with her daughter, and enjoyed life on the farm before moving to Betel Home for a short period of time. We had the opportunity to celebrate mom's 101st. birthday this spring with friends and family and will always remember her beautiful smile and laughter. We would like to say thank you to the staff of the Gimli Community Health Center and Betel Home Foundation for the wonderful care she received during her stay at both facilities. Funeral service will be held at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Emerson, on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at 10:00 a.m.. Neil Bardel Funeral Center.
