Clear Lake, Oct. 14.-Hundreds of relatives and friends members of the Zuhrah Temple, Minneapolis, the Becker group of the I. O. O. F. lodge and the Masonic Blue lodge of Little
Falls attended the funeral today of L. C. Coates, World War veteran, and employe of the Northern Pacific railroad, when they were held here.
The services, first scheduled to be held in the Clear Lake M. E. church, took place in the town hall because off the overflow crowd which arrived to attend.
Clyde Shattuck Speaks.
Rev. Clyde Shattuck. of Clearwater a family friend, delivered the funeral sermon. The services were in charge of the Masonic lodge of Clear Lake, and a Masonic rite was conducted at the grave in the Clear Lake cemetery, where interment was made.

Widely known and affiliated in Masonlc circles, many fellow lodge members from nearby towns were present to attend Mr. Coates' funeral. He was a 32nd degree Mason and belonged to the Zuhrah Temple, Minneapolis, the Little Falls Blue lodge, and the Becker Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
Mr. Coates died suddenly Thursday afternoon while enroute from Philbrook, Minn., to teh Northern Pacific hospital at St. Paul. The remains were brought to the home of Mrs. F. A. Coates, mother of the Clear Lake man, where they were held until the time of the funeral.
Attending the funeral yesterday were Mr. and Mrs. Barney Frazier, Minneapolis: and Sam Coates, living in Canada, relatives of Mr. Coates.
