Margie Marie Douglas, 58, of Nashville, formerly of Franklin County, died January 28 at her residence. She was the daughter of P. A. Gifford and Gracie Lee Judge Gifford. Before moving to Nashville, she was employed for several years by the law firm of Hickerson and Murray. Later, she worked for the firm of Jeff and Mark Stewart. She was currently employed by the State of Tennessee, Department of Treasury, Tennessee Claims Commission, as an Executive Administrative Assistant. She was an active member of Parkway Baptist Church in Goodlettsville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Allen Gifford and Aaron Gifford. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Douglas; two daughters, Jennifer (Randy) Plattenburg and Donna (Steve) Brewer, all of Winchester; sister, Mary L. (Harold) McDonald, Cowan; brother, Joe (Betty) Gifford, Cowan; grandchildren, Julie Plattenburg, Bethany Plattenburg, Christopher Plattenburg, Bryan Brewer and Kristin Brewer; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted January 31 at 1 p.m. from Oaklawn Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Moore and Rev. Ray Gardner officiating. Interment was in Franklin Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Chester Coronet, Steve Humbert, Ronald Judge, Steve Blount, Jeff Stewart, and Lewis Holman. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
