Raymond C. “Curt” Stark, 72, of Quenemo, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015.

He was born July 28, 1942, in Vinita, Oklahoma, the son of Raymond and Clara M. (Durbin) Stark. He attended schools in Logan, Kansas. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska.

Raymond was employed by Cross Ambulance, Topeka, performed EMT Training in Abilene and later worked for St. Francis Hospital in Topeka for 27 years, retiring in 2005.

He was a life time member of V.F.W. Post No. 8873 in Stockton, KS and a member of American Legion Post No. 239 in Overbrook, KS.

Raymond married Katheryn L. Tibbets on May 26, 1979 in Topeka. She survives of the home. Other survivors include two children, Theresa Murchie and Tessa Goupil; grandchildren, including Sean Goupil, Topeka; a brother, Edwin Stark, Frostburg, MA; and several nieces and nephews.

Raymond loved to joke, camping, fishing and the outdoors, Alaskan cruises and spending time with his family and friends. He also loved to have coffee with his Overbook buddies.

A funeral ceremony will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave, Topeka. Interment will follow at Lynn Creek Cemetery, Berryton. Raymond will lie in state after 3 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m.
