Marie Margaret Benedix,90, of Correctionville died Thursday, Feb. 16, 1995, at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Salem Lutheran Church in rural Correctionville with the Rev. Marvin Mueller officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Pierson, Iowa. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 4 to 6 p.m. and a prayer service at 5 p.m., at the Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville.

She was born Aug. 29, 1904, in Correctionville, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Thomsen) Michaelsen. She married Fred L. Benedix Jan. 27, 1926, in rural Correctionville. The couple farmed in the Pierson area all of their lives.

Mrs. Benedix was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church and the church Circle.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Fred H. and Shirley of Correctionville, Dale and Dolorse of Moville, Iowa, and Robert and Marie K of Correctionville; a daughter and her husband, Theresa and Daker McQueen of Pierson, Iowa and two sisters, Lena Hummel of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Theresa Brosemle of Holstein, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Scharff of Correctionville.

She was preceded in death by her husband; four sisters; Clara Rusch, Rike Henninger, Laura Baumann and Ida Lorenzen; and three brothers, August, Louis and Harry Michaelsen.
