Donnie K. King, Jr., age 50, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 10:47 a.m. surrounded by his family.
Donnie was born on August 25, 1964 in St. Louis, MO, a son to Donald and Marge (Johnson) King, Sr. On June 21, 1990 he married Dixie Stell in Kentucky and she survives. Donnie worked demolition for Hitchcocks Company in Canton, IL for over 20 years and owned and operated Dixie’s Restaurant in Pinckneyville, IL alongside his wife. He was a member of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, cars, especially his 1972 Dodge Charger, and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie King of Pinckneyville, IL; two daughters, Ambrika (John Jetton) King of Pinckneyville, IL and Tabetha (Mike) Ruhstorfer of Phoenix, AZ; his mother, Marge Johnson of Pinckneyville, IL; five sisters Elizabeth Gaylord of Mesa, AZ, Melody Stell of Tamaroa, IL, Angel (Chris) Day of Fresno, CA, Missy (Wade) Key of DuQuoin, IL, and Jennifer (Patrick) Hughes of San Antonio, TX; five grandchildren, Nixon and Lennon Jetton and Braxton, Kayla, and Mikey Ruhstorfer; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, many dear friends and family, and his hospital caravan.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Kirk Steele officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
