Rebecca Alexander Brank married Peter Brank in Burke County North Carolina about 1760.
Peter was killed in the Revolutionary War Battle of Kings Mountain on the 7th day of October 1780. & buried there.
Rebecca was scalped by the Indians about 1781, along with 4 other Women, Rebecca was the only survivor. At this time she was unable to care for her small son Robert Brank.
Her husband, Peter Brank's Sister Pricilla Brank Vance (wife of Col. David Vance) took him and raised him to early manhood. Rebecca & Peter also had 3 girls, Rachel, Elizabeth & Jane. These families lived in Buncombe County near Weaverville NC.
Rebecca married 2nd James Andrew Miller and came to what is now Henderson County NC sometime before 1808.
