Todd R. “Dick” Thompson died Saturday at his Mooresville home. He was 78. Born Dec. 24, 1935, in Indianapolis, he was a son of the late Glen and Mildred (Littell) Thompson Fidger. He married Barbara Fredrick in 1958 and she survives. Mr. Thompson was a graduate of Warren Central High School. He served in the military for 23 years before retiring in 1975. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korea War and the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked as a commercial truck driver for T&S and Carter Trucking Companies for many years before retiring from management with Federal Express in 1997 after 11 years of service. He was a member of Hazelwood Christian Church and the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1111, both in Mooresville. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Hazelwood Christian Church. Interment will be at Center Valley Cemetery. Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Additional survivors include his children, Stephanie (Mark) Thompson, Tommy Thompson and Leslie Fairfield, all of Plainfield; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Weaver & Randolph Funeral Home in Clayton was entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at funeral home website.
