DUKE CENTER, Pa. - Shelley D. Mitchell, of 1067 Main St., passed away Saturday (May 30, 2015) at Olean General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Shelley was born June 17, 1965, in Olean and was a daughter of George "Buster" and Maybell Westlake Scott. On Nov. 18, 1986 in Olean, she married her husband of 28 years, Gerald R. Mitchell, who survives.
Shelley graduated from Allegany High School. She worked as an automotive and truck parts specialist for most of her life, starting at Smethport Auto, then going to AutoZone and Advanced Auto Parts. Shelley was also a journalist for the York newspaper, along with dealing in rare commodities and importation. She drove a truck/tractor-trailer. Shelley was a member of NORML.
She enjoyed learning new things and building car motors. Shelley's true love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Along with her loving husband, Shelley is survived by two children, James David Mitchell of Duke Center and Tanya Pizano of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren, James David Jr., Alexander, Jose Jr., Selena and Jennifer; a sister, Linda Hollamby of Portville, N.Y.; her loving mother, Mary Collett of Limestone, N.Y.; a brother-in-law, Edwin Coder of Tampa; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Novicki of Belmont, N.Y.
Burial was in the Allegany Cemetery.
