John Hardiman, a well known retired building contractor of Watertown, died yesterday following a long illness, aged 75 years. He had been in poor health for over three years but his last illness had been of six months' duration. He had been forced to remain in bed during the past five months.
The funeral will be held at 9 Wednesday morning at 9:30 from St. Patrick's church. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery.
Mr. Hardiman was born at Ballinsloe, Ireland, Nov. 10, 1843, son of the late Michael and Catherine Riley Hardiman, and spent his early life there. When 23 years old he left his home on the Emerald Isle and came to Watertown in 1866, Watertown being then but a village.
