He was born Dec. 19, 1925 in Fairmount and was a Fairmount High School graduate, Class of 1944. He and his family lived on a farm until he joined the Navy.
He married Phyllis Boredenet soon after and lived numerous places throughout the United States as well as three years in Morocco. He retired from the Navy and settled in Phoenix in 1978.
Survivors include his sons, Thomas (Sue) and Vaughn (Natalie); daughter, Martha (Dan); seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and sister, Carolyn Riley, Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years in 2011; and sibling, Cynthia.
A memorial service will be Saturday, June 6, in Phoenix, AZ.
