Actress. Born in Rostock, Germany, she studied acting under the great stage director Max Reinhardt. She often performed in the theatre with her husband, actor Gustaf Gründgens, to whom she was married from 1936 to 1946. Hoppe also appeared in such movies as "Black Fighter Johanna" (1934), "The Strange Countess" (1961), "The Treasure In the Silver Lake" (1962), and "False Movement" (1975). She died in Siegsdorf, Bavaria, and was buried in the cemetery there.
