Walter bought the original MAECHTLE farm from his father, Henry II, in 1917. He was two and one-half years old when the family moved into the new brick house. In 1957 the farm was sold to son Elroy, who is now the fourth generation Maechtle to occupy the home which has remodeled to accomodate two families.
