Daisy Green Byrd, 95, of Mt. Gilead, died Tuesday evening, June 29, 2010 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Friday, July 2, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Gilead. Rev. Reese English will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Thursday evening at Edwards Funeral Home of Mt. Gilead.
Mrs. Byrd was born August 8, 1914 in Montgomery County. She was a daughter of the late William Allen and Margaret Louise Green. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Byrd and wife Elaine of Mt. Gilead, Douglas Byrd and wife Brenda of Troy. Four grandchildren, Mark Byrd and wife Catherine, Michael Byrd and wife Pebble, Sharon Price and husband Eddie, and Rex Byrd. She also had six great-grandchildren, Grayson and Jackson Byrd, Sammy, Maddie, and Miranda Price, and Addie Byrd.
She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Parrot Byrd.
