Florence H. Draper, 97, of 1200 Jewell Drive, died at 3:40 p.m. Sunday at her home.

Born Nov. 17, 1903, in Sandy Creek, daughter of Herbert R. and Juliet Salisbury Huested, she graduated from Watertown High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Smith College, Northampton, Mass. She was employed by her father at Huested's Photography Studio until the time of her marriage.

In 1928, she took a seven-week tour of Africa.

She married Charles L. Draper, a World War I veteran, on Dec. 29, 1932, at the home of her parents in Watertown with the Rev. Darwin F. Pickard officiating. The couple lived in Carthage for a time and returned in 1944 to Watertown, where she had since lived. Mr. Draper, the town of Wilna tax collector, died July 15, 1950.

Mrs. Draper was a former member of First Presbyterian Church and a volunteer at the Jefferson County Historical Society. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed reading.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Diane D. and Sheldon W. Buck, Wellesley, Mass.; a grandson and nieces, nephews and cousins.

A brother, Richard Huested, and a sister, Helen H. Huggins, died before her.

A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at Cummings Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald R. Platz, interim pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek.
