Les was born Jan. 9, 1937 in Charleston, a son of Samuel and Bessie Rice Cunningham and was the second to the youngest of eight boys and five girls. He married Barbara Bagosy on Sept. 12, 1964. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Jeanne (Ron) Hinterscher, Linda (Steve Carroll) Feasley and Terri (Rick) Hoepner; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and five sisters.
Les proudly served his county in the U.S. Army from 1960-1963. He received an honorable discharge with a good conduct medal and was an expert rifle sharpshooter. He was employed in retail grocery management from 1964 until he retired. After retirement, Les worked part time servicing magazine racks for various merchants until 2014.
