Thomas was born at the family log house in the woods of the area then known as Bucks Co, next as Upper Milford twp, Northampton Co, today known as Lower Milford twp, Lehigh Co PA. His father died when he was abt 14 yrs, The youngest son, Thomas was willed the house/land on the condition that he care for his mother, he took possession at 21 yrs. The o ther heirs, brothers Dewalt & Jacob (by then in Westmoreland Co PA), Philip (in York Co PA), and only living sister, Elizabeth STEININGER, signed the property over to him.

Thomas was an American Revolution soldier, a lieutenant in the 3rd Company, 2nd Battalion, Northampton Co. Militia under Capt. Peter SHULLER.

His godparents were Thomas & Elisabeth KURR, whose dtr, Anna Barbara, married Thomas' bro, John Peter.

Abt 1773-74, Thomas married Katherine, who resided in Easton PA at the time of their marriage.
