"John Gordon Kerr, of 117 S Brown St, 86, died at 6:30 am yesterday at his home following a lingering illness. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Mr Kerr was born on Dec 19, 1871, in Huron County, Mich, the son of John Wesley and Amanda Kerr. He had been head sawer for several lumber companies in Titusville and vicinity, and was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church. Besides his wife, Blanche, he leaves five children: Mrs Anna Joslyn of Erie, Miss Minnie Kerr of Grand Valley, Mrs Thelma Warner of Waterford, Leo Kerr of Erie and Richard Kerr of Grand Valley; 26 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and seven stepchildren: Mrs Adam Stroup, Mrs David Stroup, Mrs Mildred Ames, Mrs Effie McCurdy, Mrs Elaine Holland and Floyd Kerr, all of Titusville, and Mrs Betty Murray of Erie. One daughter, Mrs Carrie Sterling, and two sons, Lewis and Fred Kerr, preceded him in death. Several brothers and sisters also preceded him in death. Friends may call at the Peterson Funeral Home...The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday with Rev L Wayne Musgrove, pastor of the Pilgrim Holiness Church, officiating. Interment will be made in Union Cemetery."
