Genevieve M. Wright

STERLING – Genevieve Mae Wright, 97, was born April 24, 1917, the daughter of Walter and Evelyn Book. She died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

She married Robert Baxter Wright Sr. on Nov. 22, 1941. She worked several years at National Manufacturing Co. Genny was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed the Dorcas Quilting and Mary, Martha circles. She also enjoyed playing and giving piano lessons.

Genny is survived one daughter, Karen Ruth Wright; two sons, James Robert (Gail) Wright of Sterling, and Robert Baxter Wright Jr. of Yorkville; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death her husband, Robert; one son, Douglas Lee; and her brother.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday and the memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sterling, with Brandon Nelson, pastor, officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be at East Jordan Cemetery in Sterling. Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to CGH Health Foundation, Cardiac Awareness.
