DERBY, Robert Lee "Bob," 79, of New Martinsville, W.Va., died Tuesday, August 25, 2009, in Wetzel County Hospital, New Martinsville.
He was born February 9, 1930, in Pine Grove, W.Va., the son of the late Charles Derby and Hattie Dulaney Derby.
He was retired from Weirton Steel with 33 years of service, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Martinsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant sons, Robert and Dale; a son, Norman Derby; a sister, Geneivie Snyder Derby; and three brothers, Allen Derby, Kenneth Derby and Phillip Derby.
Survivors include his loving wife, Flossie Goudy Derby; a daughter, Elizabeth Flo (Raymond) Pribble; a son, Timothy (Cheryl) Derby of Weirton, W.Va.; eight grandchildren, Bonnie (Dave) Steele, Cindy (Rodney) Adams, Shannon (Johnny) Anderson, Jessica (Matt) Morris all of New Martinsville, Norman Derby Jr. and Nikki Derby of East Liverpool, Ohio; and Timothy Derby Jr. and Monica Derby of Weirton; and nine great grandchildren .
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Don Biram officiating.
Interment in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville.
