Born Feb. 4, 1913, near Edgerton, he was the son of Estella (Mowry) and Fred Sindel, a graduate of Edgerton High School, and was a lifelong Edgerton area farmer, retiring in 1975. On Feb. 29, 1936, he married C. Fern Wertman, and she preceded him in death on July 24, 1996. Surviving are a son, Jack (and wife, Melanie) of Edgerton; two daughters, Mrs. John (Jean) Goebel and Mrs. Tom (Shirley) Wickerham, both of Edgerton; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Randy Sindel in 1996; three brothers and three sisters.
The family will receive friends in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, on Wednesday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Lloyd Turnbull officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
Memorials may be made to the West Milford Church of Christ or Hospice, the Caring Way of Williams and Fulton Counties.
