From the Cemetery Index at the website for this Church:
"Gilliland, William Col. – (Son of John & Jane Gilliland – married 1st Catherine Fleming, 2nd Mary Galbreath) – Jan. 13, 1753 - Jul. 7, 1831 "

His son Joseph, left a legacy to purchase and erect both headstones and footstones "of good marble quality" for his father (this William) and brother Samuel, but the stones may have been lost, or illegible.

Probate identified the following heirs:

- Widow Mary: Gilliland
- The children of John F. Gilliland, deceased: John, Samuel, Margaret Catharine and Wm. Fleming Gilliland,
- William Gilliland
- George Gilliland
- Joseph Gilliland
- Fleming Gilliland

Later, through the Will of the above mentioned son Joseph Gilliland, he identifies an additional brother, James Gilliland, deceased. This James had a son Alexander Gilliland.
