Rev. Thomas Cummings, Clearspring, Expires The Rev. Thomas J. Cummings, 81, a retired Baptist minister, died early this morning at his residence in Clearspring. He had been ill two years. Death was due to a complication of diseases. The Rev. Mr. Cummings was born August 17, 1872. in Owen township, son of the late William and Brilla Edwards Cummings. He was married October 15, 1905, in Jackson County, to Julia Branaman, who survives. The Rev. Mr. Cummings served in the ministry over 30 years, holding pastorates in a number of communities throughout southern Indiana. He lived in Franklin 12 years, but the rest of his life was spent in Owen township where he was widely known. He leaves a host of friends and relatives, who mourn his death. In addition to the widow, he is survived by two sons, Edward B. Cummings, of Plainfield, and Paul Cummings, of Bargersville; one daughter, Mrs. John Edmondson, of Franklin, and a sister, Mrs. James A Martin, Norman R1. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Daylight Saving Time, from the Clearspring Baprist Church, of Uniontown, in charge. Burial in the Clearspring Cemetery.
