AMY IONE RICE

Amy Ione Rice, 77, Shelbyville, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday in St. Francis Hospital, Beech Grove.

She was born on July 19, 1916 in Shelby County, the daughter of Ira Nelson and Viola (Tillison) Cobler. She married Gerald Rice on June 5, 1937. He survives.

Mrs. Rice was a lifelong Shelby County resident. She worked at the former Garment Factory and the former Lords ladies apparel store. She was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church, B.P. Club of Marion township, Y.F.M, Club and Shelby County Senior Citizens.

Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Sheila) Lambert, Indianapolis, and two grandchildren.

A brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Funeral Home with the Rev. Judy Purvis officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty United Methodist Church.
