Madeline E. Price, 94, of McSherrystown, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville. She was the wife of Donald C. “Candle” Price Sr. who died August 8, 2001. Born April 28, 1921 in Union Mills, MD, she was the daughter of Edward and Alverta (Myers) Mathias.
Madeline was retired from Sonoco Manufacturing and was a member of Annunciation BVM Catholic Church in McSherrystown. She enjoyed gardening, traveling to Ocean City and especially spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are four children, Donald C. Price Jr. and his wife Dona of Cammal, Stephen J. Price and his wife Gail of Abbottstown, Christine M. Schuchart and her husband Bernard of Pagosa Springs, CO and Loretta Dudas and her husband Phil of Streetsboro, OH; 11 grandchildren, Dana Knecht, Dora Reed, Jennifer Livelsberger, Stephanie Lindsey, Charlie Funk, Todd Funk, Jody Andruszka, Gail Neiderer, Kevin Schuchart, Stacy Tsakeris and Jason Dudas; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister Violet Matthews of Hanover. She was preceded in death by four siblings; John Mathias, Ella Pascoe, Lima Sterner and Evelyn McGurk.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Annunciation BVM Catholic Church, McSherrystown with Rev. Lawrence J. McNeil as celebrant. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
