George W. Moore was a carriage builder who married Sarah (Sallie) Ester Yerkes, the oldest daughter of Hiram and Anna Lewis Yerkes. Sallie is No. 629 in Chronicles of the Yerkes Family by Josiah Granville Leach.

They had three children, Ella Moore (No. 1371) who died as an infant, Annie Lewis Moore (No. 1372), and James Newton Moore (No. 1373) who died at age 9.

Before he died, his sister-in-law Phebe Yerkes also lived in his household.
