Carolyn Inez (Lee) Meeks, 56 year old lifelong Seminole area resident, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Monday, June 1, 2015 at her home in Seminole, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born November 26, 1958 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina to parents, Roy Charles Lee and Clara Ann (Patterson) Lee.
Carolyn attended Bowlegs Schools. On February 7, 1976 she married Johnny Neal Meeks at the Bowlegs First Baptist Church in Bowlegs, Oklahoma.
Carolyn worked for many years in the home health care industry, the last being Health Care Innovations of Purcell, Oklahoma.
Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, sister, “Nanny”, homemaker and friend. She was a charter member of the Lord’s Community Church in Seminole, where she had been a member for over 30 years. Carolyn also took care of the Church’s Nursery for that 30 years. She was given the gift of charity, caring and unconditional love from God, and she used her gifts to touch so many souls, from caring for her in-laws to complete strangers and anyone she happened to cross paths with. To know Carolyn was to love her. Above all Carolyn was a person who always put others before herself.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 40 years, Johnny Meeks of the home; two sons, Michael Joseph Meeks and Joseph Neal Meeks, both of Seminole, Oklahoma; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brandy Lynn (Meeks) Rivera and her husband Ulysses of Seminole, Oklahoma, Mandy Renee (Meeks) Allen and her husband Ricky of Seminole, Oklahoma; one sister, Emma Joyce Lee of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two half-brothers, Leslie Daggert and Danny Lee both of Michigan; 13 grandchildren, Roy Dakota Meeks, Ryan Austin Meeks, Michael Ulysses Meeks, Seliesse Christina Rivera, Matthew Ray Meeks, Shelby Dawn Allen, Sarah Elizabeth Allen, McKinsey Taylor, Bradley Arron Jackson, Preston Hunter Jackson, Chaz Michael Meeks, Issac Wright, and Chance Michael Meeks; and a host of other family, Church family, and dear friends.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastors Nita and Jim Moreland along with J.C. Simpson officiating the service. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery in Seminole County, Oklahoma.
Casket Bearers will be: Joseph Meeks, Roy Meeks, Ryan Meeks, Jose Pieto, Lisa Underwood, and Jeff Smith.
Honorary Bearers will be: Roy Smith, Micah Smith, Ricky Allen, Bill Renton, and Brian Harjo.
