Madison Sowder was the son of Logan Sowder and Isabelle Sutton (daughter of Uriah and Euna Delaney Sutton, my third great grandparents). Madison was born in Rockcastle Co., Kentucky where he married Lucy Jane Wallen (daughter of Jesse B. and Louisa Tyree Wallen, my other third great grandparents) in 1879. Madison and Lucy removed to Era, Cooke Co., Texas between 1880 and 1882. Children from this marriage: William Robert, Rebecca Ellen, Jesse Newton, Emmit Logan and T.M. Sowder, all born in Era. Lucy died in 1898 in Era, Cook Co., Texas and sometime after 1900 Madison married Ella Flagg on September 13, 1906 in Cooke Co., Texas. Ella died in 1909 and Madison went to live with his son William and his family. By 1920 all this family had moved to Lubbock Co., Texas. Madison died 1927 in Idalou, Lubbock Co., Texas and his remains were brought back to Cooke Co., and he was buried in the Pollard Cemetery along with his two wives and an infant child.
