Missouri Death Certificate #13796 states that she was born in March (not Feb.) in Tennessee to Thomas Lawson. her mother's name is not given. She died in Elm Township, Putnam, Missouri.

Alexander Lawson - married a woman named "Eoff" in Newton Co. Arkansas.

Mary Ann Lawson, first married Jubilee "Jube" Liford in Davis County, Iowa, later married John David Sumpter, SR in
Newton County, Arkansas.

John Sr. was the father-in-law of Elizabeth Lawson Sumpter (Mrs. James Evans Sumpter).

Alexander and Mary Ann had an uncle, Reuben Lawson, who lived for a time in Jasper, Newton County, Arkansas before his removal to Texas.


Obituary:
Susan Cooley was born Tennessee on March 22, 1842. Then moved with her parents to Missouri when 8 years old and was married to B. F. Cooley in 1858. Six children were born to them, but one passed on before. She has lived in the christian faith for over 30 years and at death a member of Welcome Home Free Will Baptist church.
She was one of a family of thirteen children and the last one of them to enter death. She was sick only a short while and was heard to ask God often to take her soon. Besides her five children she leaves 34 grand-children, 51 great grand-children and one great great grand-child. She died March 24, 1920, being 78 years and 2 days old.
You who have lost a mother know how to sympathize with her dear ones left behind. God had given her a long life here and took her to an Eternal Life with Him.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Worthington and burial In Brasfield cemetery, conducted by J. F. Duckworth.

Obituary says Susannah Lawson Cooley was buried in Brasfield Cemetery. However, the headstone for her husband, Benjamin Franklin Cooley, buried in Pleasant Home Cemetery, Putnam Co, Mo has both their names on it.
