The body of Miss Ashe was found December 25 in a Waterbury pond. She had been reported missing December 16 after going shopping in Waterbury. Her death has been ruled a homicide by police.

She lived in Waterbury most of her life, graduating from St. Mary's Grammar School and Holy Cross High School. She was to have graduated from the University of Connecticut in Storrs, with a bachelor of arts degree in graphic design. She worked for Aetna Life and Casualty Company of Hartford as a graphics artist and was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church.
Besides her parents of Waterbury, she leaves her maternal grandmother, Mrs Olivine Jolin of Waterbury; a brother, Timothy T. Ashe; a sister, Lorraine "Lorrie" Ashe, both of Waterbury; three uncles and several cousins; and her fiance, John DeSantis of Oakville.
