S. T. Cothran, 71, Attalla, Rt. 3, died yesterday in a local hospital. Funeral services to be tomorrow 1 p.m. from, Kyuka Baptist Church with the Revs. Curtis Fuller, Bobby Talton and Boyce Chandler officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Survivors: wife Mrs. Lillie Mae Cothran; daughters, Mrs. Barbara Giles, Birmingham, Mrs. Shelby Thrasher, Altoona, Mrs. Sue Giles, Selma, Mrs. Gail Gowen, New Symrna Beach, Fla., Miss Marie Cothran, San Jose, Calif.; sons, Thurston and Thelbert Cothran, both of Attalla, Thad Ray, Dennis and Talmadge Cothran all of Gardendale; sisters, Mrs. Olin Talton and Mrs. Ola Haynie, both of Attalla; brothers, Horace and Chester Cothran, both of Attalla; 20 grandchildren. Pallbearers, Jimmy, Joe and Billy, Ellis, Jerry and Curtis Roberts and Jimmy Talton. Mr. Cothran was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah County. He was a retired Goodyear employee and a member of Kyuka Baptist Church. The body will remain at the funeral home until the hour of service. The family will receive friends after 4:30 p.m. today.
