Marcia J. Sanders, 52 years old, of Dover, AR, and formerly of Sanford, ME died suddenly on October 2, 2007 in Methuen, MA.

Marcia was born in Sanford, ME on November 23, 1954. She was the daughter of Glendon and Laurianne Bernier Clarke. She attended Sanford schools, and was a graduate of Sanford High School.

On June 21, 1980 Marcia was married to her husband William “Bill” Sanders. Together they lived in various areas of the country, but always called Maine home.

Marcia was a very generous and caring person. She enjoyed quilting, and often gave her quilts to those in most need of them. She also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, and making a welcome home for all.

Predeceasing Marcia is her mother Laurianne and a brother Timothy.

Surviving is her husband of 27 years William “Bill” Sanders of Dover, AR; two daughters, Mitizuko L. Totten of Clinton, Ill, Sadie J. Sanders of Chesterfield, MO, and a son, Isaiah D. Sanders of Clinton, Ill. Also surviving is her father, Glendon E. Clarke and his wife Jane of Sanford, ME; two sisters, Jennifer Ann Burke of Salem, NH, Lisa J. Garrit of Tampa Bay, FL; four brothers, Daniel E. Clarke of Bangor, ME, Blaine M. Clarke of Ottawa, Canada, Joel P. Clarke of Salem, NH, Jay S. Clarke of Springvale, ME; her mother and father-in-law Jean B. and William R. Sanders of Wichita, KS, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and step-brothers and sisters.

A period of visitation for Marcia will be held this Sunday, October 7, 2007 from 3 to 6 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford, ME. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 8th at 10:00 AM at St. Georges Episcopal Church in Sanford.

For those that desire the Sanders family suggests memorials be made to the River Valley Quilters Guild, Orphan Blanket Fund, c/o River Valley Quilters, P.O. Box 524, Russellville, AR. 72811.
