Douglas Wayne Ainsworth, age 76, of Henderson, passed away May 19, 2015, surrounded by family. He was born June 28, 1938, in Whitesboro, Texas, to William and Freddie Ainsworth. He married Doreen Naughton July 1, 1961, in Colorado. Douglas retired from the U.S. Navy as a chief petty officer. During his service to our country in Vietnam War, he received the Purple Heart. They moved to Las Vegas from Colorado five years ago. Douglas' hobbies included fishing, woodworking and model. He was a member of the Blind Veterans Association of Nevada. Douglas is survived by his wife, Doreen Ainsworth; three children, Elizabeth (Bill) Baker, Damon (Alice) Ainsworth and Darrell Ainsworth; a brother, Don Ray Ainsworth; two sisters, Wanda Bonno and Garnet Woefle; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City. The family requests no flowers.
