JAMESTOWN, LA. - Funeral services for Myrtle Lucille Evans Allen, 87, of Jamestown, LA. will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in Jamestown Baptist Church with Bro. Everett Geis, Sr., Bro. Everett
Geis, Jr. and Mr. B.L. "Buddy" Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery in Ringgold, LA. under the direction of Rockett Funeral Home in Ringgold, LA.
She was born November 5, 1927 in Jamestown, LA. and passed away at her home in Jamestown on May 29, 2015. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother who loved being with family and friends.
Lucille married George Franklin Allen on October 21, 1962. She was an outstanding caregiver, communicator and hostess, the mortar that kept extensive family connected. In her 87 years she touched the lives of her family, community, coworkers, church and friends in ways they will always remember. Lucille retired in 1982 after twenty-eight years of service with A T & T, formerly South Central Bell Telephone Company. After her retirement, she served as an election commissioner in Jamestown and was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Audrey Evans; husband, George F. Allen: brothers, Ronald B. Evans, Rex Willard Evans, and Lexie George Evans. Left to cherish her memories include her children, Eddie Allen and wife, Tanya of Sedalia, MO., David Allen and wife, Janet of Conroe, TX., Betty Burns and Sebastian Litton; sister-in-law, Katherine Evans of LaPlace, LA. and several other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Allen, David Allen, Paul Allen, Jerry Burns, Robert Burns and Levi Allen.
