First born child of Canadian immigrant parents, Louis Zenon Regeimbal and Valerie Menard. He was the eldest of sixteen.

When Louis O. attended high school, he had the opportunity to participate in an intensive course of study at the newly established Northwest School of Agriculture at Crookston, a University of Minnesota branch campus. He graduated with its first class in 1909, along with seven other students.

Afterward, he relocated to Minneapolis in Hennepin County, Minnesota to further his education at the University, but his studies were interrupted by World War I. After the service, he resumed his schoolwork and successfully achieved a Bachelor of Science in 1920 and a Master of Science in Agriculture in 1924.

While at university, he met Marie Ellen O'Neil, daughter of Irish immigrant parents, and in September of 1925, they married. The couple's children, born in Minneapolis, were:

Frederick Louis Regeimbal (1927 MI to 2003 MD); and Neil Robert Regeimbal (16-Mar-1929 MI to 22-Sep-1999 MD)

An Instructor of Plant Pathology and Botany at the University of Minnesota's College of Agriculture from 1923, Louis O. Regeimbal was conferred a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology in 1930.

Accepting an offer of employment in 1933, Dr. Regeimbal relocated his family to Clarendon, Pennsylvania, where on September 16, 1933, in the District of Columbia, Marie suffered the stillborn birth of her third child ♥ a son.

Another move brought the family to Montgomery County in Maryland where they lived for a time in Takoma Park; then in Gaithersburg; and lastly, in Silver Spring.

Louis and Marie were grandparents of Neil Robert Regeimbal Jr (26-May-1951 MD to 15-Feb-2012 MD).
