Matthew Barrons was born about 1838 in County Waterford, Ireland. He was married to Annie Cummings. Matthew may have been a brother to Patrick Barron, as his wife is buried next to some of Matthew's children. Also, Patrick is with possible siblings, James P and John Barron in the 1860 census.

Matthew Barron
Matthew Barron, aged 72 years, died at his home in Altoona Tuesday morning of pneumonia, after an illness of two weeks. The deceased was a native of County Waterford, Ireland, and was for many years a resident of this city after coming to America. Several years ago he removed to Altoona and entered the Pennsylvania shops where he was employed when taken ill. The deceased is survived by his wife and three children, Patrick, Matthew, and Mary, all at home.
The remains were brought to this city and taken directly to the Church of the Immaculate Conception where services were held. Interment was made Catholic cemetery.
