Gladys Owens, age 88, of Kendallville, died on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at her home.

Mrs. Owens was born in Yerkes, Kentucky, near Hazard on July 8, 1926 to the late Pearl and Nancy (Williams) Feltner.

She married Benjamin Owens on January 1, 1977 in Kendallville. He preceded her in death May 1, 1991.

Gladys was employed at Starcraft in Emma for many years before retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Kendallville. She loved spending time with her family, walking, crotcheting, and reading her Bible.

Survivors include: Son, Elmer and Sheila Fields of Weatherford, Texas. Son, Delmer Fields of Kendallville. Daughter, Zelma Feltner of Kendallville. Daughter, Thelma and David McClellan of Kendallville. Daughter, Helen and Tim Leitch of Albion. Son, Raleigh Fields of Kendallville. Daughter, Hazel Hale of Kendallville. 17 grandchildren,
35 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren. Sister, Sally and Avon Klopfenstein of Kendallville.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Eva Mae Eversole.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 4:00-8:00pm at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 2:00pm at Hite Funeral Home with visitation an hour before the service.

Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Thomas Leitch.

Burial will be at Brushy Chapel Cemetery in LaGrange, Indiana.
