Jack L. Higgins Sr., 73, of Frankford, Missouri, died at 11:15 a.m.
Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at his home.
Memorial services with Full Military Honors by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post #55 will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Minister Elena Kroeger will officiate.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of services Saturday at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
Mr. Higgins was born February 1, 1940, in Hannibal, Mo., to Lester and Helen Moore Higgins.
Mr. Higgins was previously married to Janet Nesbitt (Waelder), and they were later divorced.
He then married Nancy Riney, and they were later divorced. Mr. Higgins later married Seann Wilson and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include 3 sons, Alan Waelder (Carolyn) of New London, Mo., David Waelder (Kim) of New London, Mo., Jack L. Higgins Jr. (Angie) of Quincy, Ill.; 6 grandchildren, Haley Higgins, Paige Higgins, Clayton Waelder, Josh Waelder (Beth), Jeremiah Waelder (Wendy), Jannell Abbott (Dan); and 8 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, Connie Higgins, Russell Higgins, Lester Lee Higgins Jr., and Michael Higgins, and Harold Higgins who died in infancy.
Mr. Higgins was a United States Army Veteran. He worked as a truck driver for several companies in the area and retired from Surf Brothers Bag Company in New London, Mo. Mr.
Higgins was a graduate of Hannibal High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting.
Mr. Higgins liked to recycle metal. He also loved the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a member of Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post # 55.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jack Higgins Memorial Fund for his grandchildren's education in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
