"Martha Belle Crossfield Ware, the fourth daughter of Richard Henry and Martha Crossfield, was born 3-13-1854. She married Squire Martin Ware (a cousin of her stepmother, Elizabeth) of Garrard County on 11-7-1875.

They moved to Garrard County and remained there until 1878 when they moved to Montgomery County, Missouri with family members of Squire's parents. By 1880, they were living near Moundville, Vernon County, MO and 1883 moved to Crowley County, Kansas where they were near neighbors to the William H. and Susan Mary York family.

In April 1889, Squire and his brother Alexander A. Ware, made the 'run' in the Oklahoma 'opening'. Both of the brothers' claimed' adjoining homesteads ten miles west of Stillwater in Payne County. That fall the family moved to Stillwater where they remained until 1902.

Squire was elected on of the commissioners in Payne County in 1892. That same year he served as president of the first Payne County Fair. Squire and 'Belle' had ten children as follows:
Tilden H. (1876-1902); Harry C. (1878-1930); Maudie (1880-1949); Ada (1882-1960); Ernest (1884-1957); Roy Martin (1886-1935); Nancy Elizabeth (1888-1979); Glessie Belle (1890-1967); Ritchie C. (1895-1940; and Clifford R. (1898-1949).

Belle Ware died of cancer on 8-13-1989 and was buried in the Stillwater Cemetery. In 1902, the remaining family moved to Gotebo, Kiowa County, Oklahoma Territory where most of the children reached adulthood. Belle's husband, Squire, died at Cordell, Oklahoma on 3-22-1912 and was buried at that place. "
