COOKEVILLE — Funeral services for Annamarie Whitehead, 52, of Cookeville, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 30, beginning from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Fox officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, May 29, from 5-9 p.m.

Interment with a graveside service will be held in Wright Cemetery near Boonshill, Tenn., at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 31.

Mrs. Whitehead passed from this life Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Upper Cumberland Hospice and Palliative Care in Cookeville, after a long, painful illness.

She was born Sept. 5, 1962, in Maryland to the late Marie Calo who was of Cookeville and David Simpson formerly of Virginia.

Mrs. Whitehead was a dental hygienist for several years before getting into medical sales. She worked for RCAI in orthopedic product sales before becoming disabled in 2012. She earned many national sales awards over the years, including Sales Person of the Year, All Star and President’s Club. She was known as a very strong competitor and especially good at forming loyal customer relationships.

Her life was about many challenges and she always took them on at full speed. Many people that knew her well called her the “strongest woman they had ever known.” Her determination, work ethic and competitive spirit inspired many people.

She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Gerry Whitehead of Cookeville; a stepdaughter, Sarah Whitehead of Clarksville; a stepson, Bret Whitehead of Cookeville; and a step-granddaughter, Makenzie Whitehead of Cookeville.
She is also survived by her father David Simpson,and her grandmother Ruth Simpson. Her grandfather Leroy Simpson has passed. Both of her brothers Anthony Simpson and Shannon Simpson are living.
She was a great lover of animals and would want her dogs, Bowser and Bailey, and her cats, JR and Little Boy, mentioned.
