A Celebration of life will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Wednesday June 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with full military honors.
James was born on January 30, 1937 in Northampton MA., the son of the late John Francis Kowal and Catherine Callahan Kowal. He retired from the U.S. Army as an SFC and was a Vietnam Veteran who after retirement, enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Silvia Ramos Kowal; daughter Francis (Jerry) Ross; sons, Daniel Kowal, Joseph (Michelle) Kowal, and David Kowal; brother, Theodore Kowal; sisters, Thelma Healey and Barbara Tefts; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
