She was born October 12, 1924 and was a lifelong resident of New Orleans.
She is preceeded in death by her father, John King Woolf, her mother Ella Laney Woolf, her husband Hardy Booth Fowler, and her daughter Cynthia Fowler Powers.
She was a graduate of The Louise S. McGehee School and attended Sophie Newcomb College
She is survived by her brother, King Woolf (Marilyn), her daughters, Elizabeth Woolf Fowler and Cristine Fowler Hearne, and her son Hardy Booth Fowler Jr., and daughter -in-law Ellie. Betty was the grandmother of Elizabeth Merrick, Christine Stewart, Courtney Powers, Melissa McPhail, Laney Powers, Margaret Youngers, Annie Fowler and Hardy Fowler III.
She will also be greatly missed by her 12 great-grandchildren.
Betty enjoyed a career in antiques and interior design. She was co-owner of Sixpence Antiques and later Mirror Mirror. Everyone will miss her wonderful sense of humor. Although she had a passion for travel, good books and music, Betty dedicated her life to her children and her church, Trinity Episcopal.
Services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in New Orleans on Monday, June 1st, 2015, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. and a Memorial Service to follow at 12:00.
