Ina Boone Ashcraft, 83, southeast Kansas City, died July 14, 1989, in the Camden Health Center, 2203 E. Mechanic St, Harrisonville. She was born in Garden City, Mo, and lived in this area most of her life. Mrs Ashcraft taught at Blue Mills School in the 1930s. She was a teaching aide at Wendell Phillips Elementary School during the 1960s. She was past noble grand of the Westport Rebekah Lodge. She was a director the girls' auxiliary of the Kansas City Baptist Association. She was a member of the Ruskin Heights Baptist Church and its Sunnyside 60 Club.
Survivors include a son, Gary Ashcraft, Columbia, MD; a daughter, Gayle Ashcraft, and a brother, L.G.Vandeventer,
both of Kansas City; two sister, Mary Vandeventer and Laura Vandeventer of Lee's Summit; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Newcomer's Flora Hill Chapel. The family requests no flowers and suggests contribution to the church.
