Jack Henderson, 84, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in Denton, TX due to undiagnosed complications following a previous illness. He was born May 30, 1930 in Rosston, TX to Charles Cleveland & Essie Mae Henderson. Jack had a love for all sports, playing football, basketball and running track while attending Era High School. During the summer months he enjoyed playing baseball. He was a 1947 graduate of Era High School. Jack married Nina Mae Holland June 18, 1951 in Forestburg, TX.

Jack served four years in the U.S. Navy. As a Naval Seabee he acquired a love and talent for welding. After his discharge from the Navy his love and talent for welding enabled him a 65 year career becoming a Master welder with Dahlstrom Corporation in Buda, TX. Jack retired from Dahlstrom Corporation in 1993.

In 2000 Jack and wife Nina moved from Buda to Rosston, TX. Once again he was living on the farm he loved dearly. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and talking walks along the creek. As he walked through the farm he would talk with God about his day and reminisce about his younger years. Due to a failing heart, his walks on Earth ended far too soon; but were exchanged for walks with his Heavenly Father. Jack was a quiet man who carried a big stick.

Jack is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Nina, daughter, Janice and husband Jerry Wheatley of Pottsboro, TX., son Danny of Rosston, TX, daughter-in-law Barbara Henderson of DeSoto, TX, former son-in-law Danny Schulze and wife Mary of Sugarland, TX, eleven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one step grandchild. He is also survived by his brother, Reverend Doyle Henderson and wife Lisa of Whitesboro, TX, sisters Cleva Akin of Chandler, Jennie and husband Marshall Day of Rosston, TX and Fern and husband Donald Cloud of Rosston, TX.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother and father, son Randy, daughter Sherry Shulze, two brothers, Roland and Carl, brother-in-law E.L. Akin and sister-in-law Maria.

Jack was a member of the Rosston Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest in the Rosston Cemetery in Rosston, TX.
