GEORGE E. "TUT" FLETCHER, 80, of Volturno Street, a tool setter for the Providence Art Metal Co. for 32 years before retiring in 1977, died Monday at Miriam Hospital.
He was the husband of the late Marion (DiSantis) Fletcher.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Albert and Jennie B. (Hunt) Fletcher, he lived in North Providence for 50 years.
Mr. Fletcher was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the African, Mideastern and European Theaters, and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Chapter 21, DAV.
He is survived by two daughters, a sister, two brothers and a grandson.
He was the grandfather of the late Matthew G. Iavarone and the brother of the late William H., Herbert G. and John Fletcher.
