JOHN E. PLANK PASSES AWAY

John E. Plank. 78, a retired farmer of Gettysburg R. 4, died this morning at 12:45 o'clock at the Warner Hospital. Two weeks ago he fractured a hip in a fall and had been a hospital patient since that time.
He was a native of Adams County and had lived here all his life. He was a son of the late Henry J. and Virginia E. (Shank) Plank. His wife, the former Tressie Meals, died May 12, 1932. Mr. Plank was a member of the Bender's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are eight children, Mrs. Edward Keefauver and Mrs. Howard Beck, Biglerville R. 1; Mrs. Roy Martin, Gettysburg R. 4; Mrs. Milford Wickline, Biglerville, R. 1; Albert, Elmer and Carol Plank, all of Gettysburg R. 4, and Lawrence Plank. Idaville. There are 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Three brothers and a sister also survive: Eugene, Hagerstown; Norman, Orrtanna; Allen, Fairfield, R. 2, and Mrs. Mary Jacobs, Baltimore.
Funeral services Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the Dugan Funeral Home in Bendersville with his pastor, the Rev. Dr. Henry W. Sternat, officiating. Interment in Bender's Church Cemetry.
