Funeral services were held Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 4:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Dr. John Ditty and Bro. Hurstle Daugherty. Burial was in the Taylor Ridge Cemetery.
He was born October 15, 1960 in Somerset, Kentucky. Johnny was a member of the First Baptist Church, Whitley City and was a truck driver before his illness. He enjoyed woodworking and bible studies and was enrolled in classes at Liberty University.
Preceding him in death were a sister, Linda and a daughter, Joelle Lawson.
Survivors include his mother, Joyce Sumner Lawson of Whitley City, Kentucky, his father, John Lawson of Whitley City, Kentucky, a son, Joshua Lawson of Lexington, Kentucky, brother, Dan Lawson and his wife, Pam, of Whitley City, Kentucky, and sisters, Ella Phillips and her husband, Victor, of Whitley City, Kentucky, and Lisa Jones and her husband, Don, of Somerset, Kentucky.
