COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY – 02/22/2005
ABELL - Effie Arillia, 82, of Sebring, FL, passed away at her home Tuesday, February 15, 2005. Born in Phillipsburg, PA, she moved to Sebring 18 years ago from Floydsburg, KY. Effie was a registered nurse for Florida Hospital in Lake Placid, FL, and a member of Sebring Christian Church. She is survived by her sons, Jim Knopf of Sebring, Bill Knopf of Shelbyville, KY, Jack Knopf of Decature, TX, and Dough Knopf of Pendleton, KY; a sister, Barbara Hayes of Ohio; stepdaughters, Nancy Black and Vicki Abell, both of Louisville; stepsons, Danny Abell and Joe Abell Jr., both of Louisville; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A memorial celebration of her life will be held from 2-4 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2005, in the clubhouse at Sebring Halls Mobile Home Community. Arrangements by ICS Cremation Society in Harbour Heights, FL. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
