Robert L. Hager, 73, of Momence, died Friday, April 10, 2009 at Provena St. Mary’s Hospital, Kankakee. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Cotter Funeral Home in Momence, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Dan Hessling will officiate.
Burial, with military rites provided by the Momence Honor Guard, will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Momence. Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
Mr. Hager was a retired custodian from Bunge Foods. He was born June 30, 1935 in Phelps, Ky., the son of Phillip and Irene Lester Hager. His wife, the former Annabelle E. Senesac, whom he married Sept. 21, 1970 in Kankakee, died Nov. 14, 1994. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Momence. He enjoyed fishing and playing slot machines.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Stephen P. and Anita Hager of Momence; two steps and stepdaughters-in-law, James A. and Theresa Sharkey, Rick and Darlene Sharkey, all of Momence; two stepdaughters and one stepson-in-law, Linda Spry of Tenessee, Donna and Frank Bajic of Midlothian; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister and two brothers-in-law, Ruth and Rick Dodson of Kentucky, Jack Daugherty of Florida; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Luke Hager of Kentucky, and Lonnie M. and Pam Hager of Schaumburg.
Deceased are one brother, Don Hager; one sister, Billie Mae Daugherty; and one grandchild.
