BIRTH AND PARENTS
Haakon Gabriel Brevick was born on December 7, 1864, in Norway to Johan Hanssen Brevig (probably from the municipality of Brevik) and Grethe Lovise Tonnesen. He was baptized on January 1, 1865. Although he was born in the south of Norway in Farsund, in 1870 his family moved 150 miles north to Brevik.
IMMIGRATION
In 1882 he emigrated to the USA according to his passport application in 1923.
NATURALIZATION
In 1900 a census reported that he was Na(turalized). An undated document supported the census report.
NAME
In 1905 a census reported that he lived in Minnesota and gave his American name: Harry G Brevick.
VACATION
In 1923 he planned a trip to Norway and nearby countries that year to visit his Scandinavian relatives. He planned to sail on the S/S Stavangerfjord.
MARRIAGE AND FAMILY
A marriage record reported that Harry Blevick married Astrid Naas on April 4, 1892 in St Paul, Minnesota. They began their family later that year. Two of their sons served in the military (Army and Navy branches) during World War I.
OCCUPATIONS
According to census records and his passport application, his occupations included Bookkeeper (1895), Deputy Sheriff (1900), Clerk (1911), and Traveling Salesman (1923).
RELIGION
The First English Lutheran Church in Dorset located in Park Rapids, Minnesota, recorded his date of burial.
DEATH
Harry G Brevick, according to his Minnesota Death Record, died on December 25, 1941. Harry G Brevick died in Lake Emma Township in Minnesota.

Harry G Brevick was buried on January 21, 1942, in Minneapolis in Lakewood Cemetery. A son, Johan, who had died in his teens, had been buried there in 1908. A daughter, Astrid Harriet, died when three years old, and had been buried there in 1904. According to a photographer at Find A Grave in 2021, no gravestones were present for the three of them at the family gravesite. Harry G Brevick's wife, Astrid Naas Brevick, died and was buried several years later in Park Rapids, Minnesota.
